How it Works:
By connecting this product to a compatible automatic pet feeder, a single meal for your cat can be stretched out from seconds of gluttony to hours of mentally enriching and engaging play. The base, when paired with any sized difficulty module creates a space that can be seen and touched but not directly reached by mouth. This means that when the kibble is automatically dispensed each day, it will all end up resting in this just out of mouth reach space. Your cat may complain about this injustice, but if you start them on the easiest module first and give them a few demonstrations and free kibble to keep their interest, you should be able to leave them to slowly figure out how to get to the food. Cats naturally use their paws to test new things and upon using their paw to try to get at the food, they should naturally try to scoop some out with their paws and claws. This may not work at first but with enough practice and desperation, they should succeed after a few hours and get their first kibble (be patient as this is meant to be very challenging for them!). They may take days or even weeks before they are skilled enough to get all the food out with ease, but cats love hunting and love challenges! They may seem to get upset or annoyed by this, but when they get hungry enough and realize that the food is just sitting there, they will overcome their frustration and try again. As your cat gains skill, you can increase the difficulty of the challenge to keep them from running out of kibble too fast and getting bored. We hope you and your cat enjoy!
Assembly:
Your package will include 4 pieces: a base and 3 levels of difficulty that can be added to that base. This product is designed to work with the Pet Libro brand automatic granary style pet feeders (I might make other ones for other brands upon request), so you'll need one to properly use this product. To start, separate the different pieces from their storage configuration by sliding them apart. Then connect the shortest piece to the base so that the floor of each piece aligns. Connect the base to your automatic pet feeder and you're good to go! As your cat gets more used to the product, they may get good enough for higher difficulty pieces, or even multiple at once! To do this, simply slide more into place prior to slotting the base into the automatic feeder.
Warning if you have a dog: Please be aware that larger dogs may be able to eat directly from this product due to their longer tongues. In this case, the tallest module is needed to prevent theft by unauthorized good boys and good girls.

Sanitation:
This product is 3D printed using PLA, a common plastic used in many kitchen and household items. While the plastic is safe for use by your cat, the method of manufacturing, 3D printing, results in many nooks and crannies between the layers lines that are harborage points for bacterial growth. It is difficult to impossible to bring this material to a standard of cleanliness expected from food handling equipment. For this reason, it is recommended to ONLY use dry kibble with this product and to leave it in open spaces with air flow and sun light to reduce the risk caused by potential bacterial growth. It is also recommended to keep the product clean by regularly washing it with soap and water when significant residue has built up from the kibble and allowing the product to fully dry before use.
In case of damage:
This product has been thoroughly tested for strength against impact and other forces, but in the case of the product being broken, please remove product from cat's reach and place in recycling or trash depending on local standards.
